Our Story
We are using the SCAMPER method, in which we are using the Substitute, Combine and Adapt. We are combining the two stories which are The Umbrella Man and The Hitchhiker.
The main characters would be the hitchhiker, the driver, and a couple.
The main idea of the story is: One day, an old man who used to be a pickpocket, in which he called himself a finger-smith, came up with a brilliant plan which will not be discovered by the police when he was desperate for money. However, he was contemplating whether or not to execute the plan as he was not sure if that plan was really fool-proof. After a long time contemplating, he decided to risk it. He stood at the side of the road and put the thumbs-up sign, so that drivers would pick him up if they are kind enough. When a kind man picked him up, he stole some of his valuable belongings without the driver noticing. As the driver was distracted by talking on the phone, he got into a minor car accident, bumping the front car's bumper. While the two drivers were discussing how the compensation should be carried out after stopping at the side of the road, he took the opportunity to steal more from the other party. When he stole enough, which did not really seem enough for him, sneakily ran off. He sold the valuables to a couple, who looked quite interested in buying "his" items for a low price. However, before the deal was closed, he was arrested by the police, as the police slow-motioned everything caught on the camera on the high lamp-post at the roadside. This then taught him a lesson not to steal or pickpocket anyone, even in the serious need of money. Although he learned this the hard way, he still turned over a new leaf after two years in jail.

An ex- marine lands himself in a distant planet of Pandora, and finds himself battling against the human race, with the planet's race, the Na'vi race, a tall, blue skinned native tribe, who have been at war with a mega corporation's security team led by Col Miles. This film follows a war veteran, Jake Sully, who was called into the deep space to do the job of his deceased brother,Tommy, for the scientific team of this company, led by Grace, to mine the land of Pandora for an extremely valued ore. However, the biggest accumulation of the ore lies just below the home of the Na'vi race. And because of the planet's hostile environment, humans have genetically grown half alien, which can change their consciousness into, and explore the world in. Jake's brother had an Avatar for him, so he could connect with it using a similar DNA code, and also experience the joy in Pandora, as well as giving the scientific team, some needed protection against the hostile forces they will experience there in Pandora. On a meeting by chance after getting separated with the team, Jake's Avatar was rescued by Neytiri, a Na'vi princess, who brings him into her tribe, and giving the humans at adapting to this new environment. Meanwhile, when spending more and more time with the Na'vi race, and when Neytiri was teaching him how he should follow them to live, the Na'vi princess and Jake falls in love with each other. When the word gets out that Jake is spending more and more time with the Na'vi race, Col Miles enlists Jake to do some probing for the company, as the company would like the race of Na'vi to shift their home before taking more measures to get on hand the treasure below. And when Jake's brother becomes one with the tribe, he learns the hidden secrets of Pandora, and his conscience is torn between the new adopted one and the human race, while he loses connection with his Avatar. Soon, battle lines are drawn and he needs to decide on whose side he would be helping when the time comes. When the human race started te fight against the Na'vi race, Jake realised that he could not bear the humans destroying the Na'vi race's home, and therefore decided to fight alongside the Na'vi race. He gathers the tribes on Pandora, and forced the humans to stop the digging of the ore. Finally, after sacrificial of lives, the battle finally ended and the Na'vi race emerged victorious, and forced the humans back to Earth.
